Permainan monopoli adalah permainan yang berupa bisnis properti yang berupa aset bangunan dan tanah. Permainan ini menggunakan gacoan, dadu, kartu tanah mainan, serta uang mainan.

Blog ini ditulis karena masih ada yang belum mengerti aturan yang sebenarnya dalam bermain monopoli. Peraturan yang akan dijelaskan disini adalah dengan menggunakan nilai uang terendah adalah 1. Inilah peraturan standarnya dan beberapa peraturan yang biasanya belum dimengerti oleh pemainnya:

Umum

• Mula-mula pemain dibagikan uang sebanyak 1500 untuk modal awal.
• Dadu yang dipakai sebanyak 2. Pemain berjalan sesuai jumlah angka dadu. Bila kedua dadu menunjukkan angka yang sama maka pemain dapat berjalan lagi dengan melempar dadu. Tetapi jika kedua dadu menunjukkan angka yang sama sebanyak 3 kali berturut-turut, maka pemain tersebut diharuskan untuk langsung masuk penjara.
• Jika pemain berhenti di tanah yang belum dibeli, maka pemain tersebut dapat memilih untuk membeli atau tidak. Namun jika pemain tersebut tidak membeli, maka tanah tersebut akan dilelang oleh Bank. Dengan lelang, maka pemain lainnya dapat kesempatan untuk memiliki tanah tersebut. Namun satu pemain harus berani menentukan harga tertinggi dari pemain lainnya. Pemasang harga tertinggilah yang berhak memiliki tanah tersebut.
• Mendirikan bangunan berupa rumah dan hotel harus memiliki tanah satu komplek sekaligus terlebih dahulu. Supaya pemain dapat memiliki tanah satu komplek sekaligus, jika ada tanah yang dimiliki pemain lain, maka pemain tersebut harus melakukan tawar-menawar dengan pemain yang memiliki tanah tersebut. Harga dapat disepakati apakah akan dibayar beberapa kali lipat harga tanah itu atau bisa juga dengan tanah juga. Jumlah rumah dan hotel harus merata tiap tanahnya dalam satu komplek. Mendirikan bangunan harus berurutan dari membeli satu hingga empat rumah dan kemudian satu hotel. Perlu diingat membeli/menjual rumah dan hotel hanya dapat dilakukan dengan Bank. Jika akan menjual kembali bangunan tersebut, pemain akan mendapatkan setengah harga dari harga resmi tersebut.
• Berhenti di kotak Start. Setiap kali melewati kotak start maka pemain akan mendapatkan uang. Tetapi jika berhenti tepat di kotak Start pemain tetap mendapatkan uang. Uang yang didapatkan sebanyak 200.
• Parkir bebas. Sebenarnya berhenti kotak parkir bebas tidak mendapatkan apa-apa.

Penjara

Pemain diharuskan masuk penjara jika:

1. berhenti di kotak ‘masuk penjara‘
2. dapat perintah dari kartu kesempatan atau dana umum untuk masuk penjara. Kartu tersebut biasanya bertuliskan: “Masuk penjara. Tidak melalui start tidak terima uang 200“
3. kedua dadu menunjukkan angka yang sama sebanyak 3 kali berturut-turut

Untuk keluar penjara ada tiga cara, yaitu dengan menggunakan kartu bebas penjara, bayar denda sebanyak 50, serta melempar dadu sampai keduanya menunjukkan angka yang sama. Perlu diingat, jika pemain memilih keluar penjara dengan cara melempar dadu, kesempatan ini hanya ada 3 kali. Jika pada kesempatan ketiga lemparan kedua dadu tetap tidak menunjukkan angka yang sama, maka pemain tersebut harus membayar denda 50, dan kemudian berjalan seperti biasa sesuai angka pada lemparan ketiga tersebut.

Hutang

Pemain akan berhutang kepada Bank atau pemain lain jika uang yang tersedia tidak mencukupi untuk membayarnya. Sebagai gantinya pemain diharuskan untuk menjual bangunan atau menggadaikan tanah, atau dapat juga menjual tanahnya kepada pemain lain. Perlu diingat jika hutang belum terbayar maka tidak akan bisa berpindah giliran ke pemain lain untuk berjalan. Jadi hutang harus lunas dahulu sebelum berpindah giliran. Pemain yang memiliki hutang dapat memutuskan langsung berhenti bermain jika nilai hutangnya lebih besar daripada nilai asetnya.

Bila berhutang kepada pemain lain, pemain dapat mengakhiri permainan dengan menyerahkan segala harta kekayaannya kepada pemain yang memberikan hutang kepadanya. Kecuali untuk bangunan, terlebih dahulu dijual kepada Bank.

Bila berhutang kepada Bank, maka pemain dapat mengakhiri dengan menyerahkan segala harta kekayaan yang dimilikinya. Setelah itu Bank akan langsung melelang tanah yang pernah dimiliki pemain yang telah berhenti bermain tersebut kepada pemain lain.
