Dalam memilih nama domain, sebelum Anda membeli, harap pikir-pikir dahulu sebelum membeli. Karena setelah nama itu dibeli, maka nama itu tidak akan bisa diganti-ganti lagi. Jadi, pikirkan dahulu dengan matang.

Berikut ini adalah arti dari masing-masing akhiran domain:

1. .com (commersial), artinya domain ini digunakan untuk keperluan komersial.
2. .net (network), biasanya digunakan untuk perusahaan jaringan.
3. .info (informasi), biasanya untuk menampung suatu informasi
4. .org (organisasi), akhiran ini biasa digunakan oleh organisasi

Semua akhiran nama domain itu dapat dibeli secara bebas, pilih apapun tidak masalah. Namun ada yang menganjurkan agar memilih yang berakhiran .com saja agar mudah diingat. Harga domain itu berkisar Rp 80000 sampai Rp 100000 per tahun.

Kemudian ada juga domain yang akhirannya sebanyak dua kali seperti .co.xx. Bila Anda ingin membeli domain ini, pihak penyedia biasanya memberikan harga yang lebih mahal dan meminta syarat tambahan.
